每次我跟家長說USC南加大現在很難申請了, 你們都很懷疑.  大家都想去的學校錄取標準就會變高, 這是永遠不會變的真理!

  2. Hi Mr.Chiang :
Thank you for your radio show, we live from 4 hours away in central coast, but we try to tune in every chance we can.we learned so much from you. now ,I have two questions for you,
1.At my daughter’s high school, the senior class has 288 students, and she is ranked 12th. But sophomore year, there were 290 students in the class and my daughter was ranked ninth, so what is her rank overall? Are they going to take the average of both of her ranks?
    2. Some colleges sent us their flyers and information packets, do we need to respond to them before we send in the applications? And, does it mean that we have a better chance to get accepted by the colleges that sent us their information?

    • Hi, Wen. Thank you for your comments. 1. Most of the colleges don’t really use the high school ranking as part of their evaluation because a lot of the high schools don’t rank students anymore. Application evaluation is a overall review, anyway. 2. Some top colleges send out lots of invitation to students to encourage them to apply. Remember, the more applicants, the lower acceptance rate. Thanks!
